THE VINEYARD Aude in the South of France is considered the best Pinot Noir region outside of Burgundy. Sitting on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea the climate is warm with sunny days and light refreshing sea breezes. The Pyreness Mountains that border the area provide low overnight temperatures perfect for balanced tannins and classic Pinot Noir characteristics. This was followed by a late start to the Summer and a fabulous vintage producing elegant bright expressive flavours, exactly what we look for in VNO grapes.
THE WINERY Fermentation occured in the traditional French method at 30˚C creating a well balanced, elegant Pinot Noir.
THE WINE This bright ruby coloured wine was created in a Burgundy style with delicate aromas of violet and ripe cherries. Medium bodied with silky raspberry notes on the palate and soft tannins with generous length.
THE MEAL Grab some friends and serve with something gamey like duck or vension and enjoy.
