Man O’ War Estate Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon blanc is an exuberant expression of the traditional herbaceous style which thrust New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc onto the world’s stage; fresh herbs, gooseberry, capsicum and nettle on the nose with tropical fruits such as mango and jack fruit expressed on the palate. The wine is conveying the volcanic influence in the soil through its minerality and elevated acidity which is well balanced with texture from the barrel influence and ripe fruit tannins extracted from the skins in the cloudy ferments.
This estate grown Waiheke Sauvignon Blanc exhibits fresh herb, nettles and gooseberry characters and contains a splash of Sémillon, creating a wine that is fresh and crisp, in a dry fruity style. The Sauvignon Blanc adds the pungency to the aromas and the Sémillon adds a remarkable ‘chalky’ minerality to the wine which, over time, will develop into a wonderfully toasted muesli/tropical fruit character.
