A cool season combined with significant rain events made ripening difficult. Despite this the season produced some exceptional Chardonnay. The extended length of ripening time has resulted in wines that are moderate in alcohol and with ripe nectarine and melon fruit flavours combined with great natural acids.
Barrel fermentation of much of the blend gives a texture and silkiness to the palate. A range of barrel ages were used resulting in a wine that shows the complexity of barrel fermentation without overt oakiness.
