Quick Overview

The Lieujean has a tight, earthy bouquet that reluctantly opens in the glass to reveal blackcurrant and bramble scents. The palate is medium-bodied with savoury notes, fine tannins and a fleshy Merlot driven finish.

Since the 19th century, the Chateau Lieujean produces a wine of character under the Haut Medoc appellation. The argillaceous and sandy gravel soil confers a very traditional feeling of the Medoc region on this type of vineyards. The wine has this tannic structure, characteristic of the large Medoc region, by preserving a very fruity aromatic expression associated to a light wooded taste. Recent installations permit the benefit from the best of a varied soil under optimal conditions.

75 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 % Merlot.
